Ryan Huffmaster

Director of Uniformed Operations
Ryan Huffmaster is responsible for the day-to-day management of Huffmaster Protective Services, which includes overseeing the administration, operations, and financial health of the division, as well as, strengthening our service lines for growth and resonating our “Customer Focused, Employee Driven” philosophy.

Ryan started working for Huffmaster Companies at the age of 16 as an accounting clerk. He shifted to field security at the age of 18, including time served in our strike division as both an officer and supervisor. Then, while completing his bachelor’s degree, he participated in an internship as assistant to the executive team. After completing his undergraduate degree, he was appointed to administrative and operations manager for Huffmaster Protective Services. And most recently, upon completion of his master’s degree, Ryan has been promoted to Director of Uniformed Operations. During his tenure, he has had the privilege of serving a variety of customers across the United States and is fully committed to going above and beyond with satisfying all of their security needs.

Ryan has achieved a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Entrepreneurship from Central Michigan University and a Master of Business Administration in Integrative Management from Michigan State University. Additionally, he is currently pursuing ASIS PSP certification and hopes to also obtain CPP certification within the next few years.

Ryan was born and raised in the security industry, with both his father and grandfather being owners of the business at some point in time. For this same reason, he has a strong desire to one day successfully transition the family business to its third generation. Dedication, patience, and a strong desire to be successful are some of the key attributes that lead Ryan to success in his position. He also feels that Huffmaster Protective Services enjoys success largely due to having a diverse combination of management, flexible and creative staff, and years of loyalty, allowing for tremendous group cohesion.

In the short-term, Ryan is striving to strengthen and grow Huffmaster Protective Services while also becoming more familiar with the various aspects of the security industry and the corresponding customer base and their needs.

And lastly, In order to keep abreast of current events and trends in the security industry, Ryan stays closely connected with other security professionals, industry associations, and actively monitors vendors and competitors.

John Kavalick

John currently works with a large cross section of clients requiring services ranging from Premium Security (security officers), Remote Monitoring, Executive Protection, Violence in the Workplace Training, Plant Closings and Security Assessments.

After 25 years of working in the security industry in various capacities, He was awarded certification in Homeland Security (CHS-lll) based upon those experiences. John is also a member of the American College of Forensic Examiners (ACFEI). His earliest training in the military was focused on training the Fort Knox Base on Riot Control. John attended St. Alphonsus Grade and High School and graduated from Monteith College at Wayne State University with a PH.B. in 1972. He also graduated from the U.S. Army Officer Candidate School and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant.

John has a passion for providing value added solutions to his clients. Training in the area of Violence in the Workplace is a special favorite of his with many clients evaluating his training as top notch in the security world.

He has a strong rapport with clients and works to ensure their company processes and procedures while always delivering a value added security solution.

With John's help, Huffmaster continues to provide "Top Gun" service through a veteran staff of security professionals. Continued education, webinars and actual learning from the customer's unique challenges allows Huffmaster to maintain the highest level of service.

Gary Strehl

Gary responsibilities are to PSG site operations, development, and deployment, of all PSG teams within the United States. He is an important liaison with our clients for all of our sites within the PSG. His primary mission is to ensure that the client’s security service is to their satisfaction.

With over 30 years in nearly every facet of security; Physical Security, Armed, Armed Escort, Unarmed Contract Security, Retail Loss Prevention Management, Special Event, Disaster, Executive Protection, Contract Security Operations Management, Military and Private Law Enforcement. Gary has amassed a great deal of knowledge that is effective and enables our clients to realize that there assets will be protected.

Gary served honorably in the United States Army where he was a US Army Military Police Graduate, US Army NCO Academy Graduate. He has also attended Schoolcraft College - Private Police Academy, and Field Officer Training School – Law Enforcement (Oakland University). He has Certificates of Completion; BMAP Trainer Course, TSA-First Observer, DHS Chemical Security Training, Surveillance Detection Training. Gary maintains consistent training through programs offered at the Detroit Chapter of ASIS and is beginning his training to attain his ASIS Physical Security Professional Certification.

Using his experience and training, Gary has the knowledge and ability to build teams of security personnel with regard to their deployment, duties, and training to thwart the potential of a terrorist attack, theft, or respond to a facility emergency; fire, employee injury, etc. To see the teamwork unfold in the manner trained and be successful in their efforts is extremely satisfying to him.

Gary’s application of constant motivation and communication is his most successful tool. A little or a lot, if the client and security personnel do not have clear concise understanding of where they are regarding the protection of the client’s assets and to be proactive for specific situations or environments, success becomes very limited for all involved. His belief is to always exceed the expectations on service to our clients and to continually improve the professional stature of our PSG uniformed personnel.

Gary’s future growth within this industry is evident, and his objective is simple to position himself as a significant leader in operational contract security management and inevitably a directorship is on his horizon. With his knowledgeable approach to physical, as well as operational security. The commitment to the client and the protection of their assets is his top priority. To really establish this Gary utilizes a baseline of communication between himself, the client and the PSG team assigned to the client. This communication is critical in the delivery of solid service to our client. The client’s willingness to continue service with Huffmaster based on the attained satisfaction and the knowledge that at anytime tasked that Huffmaster-PSG will provide outstanding service is Gary’s ultimate satisfaction. To achieve that level through hard work and solid effort in a team manner is extremely satisfying to Gary.
